Maybe if we stopped allowing partners to abuse us with words and neglect, we would have a better chance that it would not extend to our kids. Verbal and emotional abuse boils down to respect for each of us--why do we think we can treat our loved ones so shabbily? More importantly, why do adults allow their partners to do it to them?

The Baldwin case is very sad - Alec has a history of bad temper and verbally abusing others and being overly controlling. Kim has a history of very bizarre and provocative behavior as well as parental alienation behaviors. It was a match made in a hot place - and we know why they allowed it - both of their "inner dramas" got fed with the nonsense.

I feel so sorry for the daughter. So very sorry.
